Your message is my mission.

I believe every business owner has a world-changing message to share.

Over my last 15 years in business, I’ve learned that entrepreneurs often feel that message pressing on their hearts.

Maybe you do, too.

And maybe, like so many business owners, you don’t know how to “get it out there.” Maybe you struggle with the words or with the how-to.

So maybe, your message has stayed stuck, stagnant, instead of rippling out into the world.

There are two incredibly powerful ways to share your message with the people who need to hear it:

Writing and speaking.

As a copywriter and as a keynote coach, I help idea-driven, visionary entrepreneurs design and deliver their world-changing messages in the most powerful ways possible.

No matter which side of my services I’m working on — keynote coaching or copywriting — I help each business owner I work with get the message that's on their heart out into the world.

My work as a messaging expert was a loooong time coming.

I started out as a competitive speaker.

In high school, speech team was my “sport” of choice.

That may already tell you a lot about me.

(My freshman year, my mother did say I had to do one athletic sport, so I reluctantly ran track for a season. But after that? It was all theatre, speech, and debate all year long.)

For four years, I studied speechwriting and delivery, earning my way to the national championships and even earning scholarships for my speaking skills, too.

After high school, I coached speakers and judged speech competitions while I pursued my theatre performance degree and writing minor.

As a theatre student, I honed my ability to step into a character’s motivations, feelings, physicality, and voice — which would all come in handy when I began copywriting later on.

Speaking of writing…

I remember asking two of my writing professors what work I could consider when I graduated.

I was going to be an actor, but I knew that even the most successful actors (outside of A-list celebrities) have “survival” jobs. I wanted one that would use my writing skills.

“Well,” they said, “most of our students who pursue writing go into journalism, or become novelists.”

Ah, well.

Turns out, I actually did end up getting a writing-based dayjob, composing support emails in Groupon’s signature peppy-and-a-little-bit-weird brand voice.

More importantly…

I spent the next 10+ years working as an actor, adapting and directing plays, and building my first business: a touring arts education company based out of Chicago.

For 8 years, I wrote our sales copy — emails, web copy, social content, print brochures… as well as writing scripts, lyrics, and music and overseeing the artistic and educational team.

When it was time to leave the theatre industry, I left the arts ed company in the capable hands of my co-founder and took a quick detour to law school before bringing my messagings skills to my new business: Right Cat Creative.

The spring that I withdrew from law school and began working with copywriting clients, I gave a TEDx Talk about dropping out.

As word spread about my talk, other business owners started reaching out to me.

“Hey,” they’d say. “You’ve got all this experience…

  • Speaker

  • Actor

  • Director

  • Copywriter

  • Editor

And now you’ve given a TEDx Talk, too.”

They wanted to give a TEDx talk, they’d tell me.

And they wondered if I would coach them.

As a result, in 2022 I developed The Amplify Method and began using it to coach business owners through the process of applying for and developing their TEDx Talks.

The work I do now is all about getting the message that’s on your heart out into the world — and into the minds of the people who really need to hear it.

Whether you want to share your message through emails, sales pages, or your own TEDx Talk, I can help.

The values that guide my work

These are the values that illustrate the way I try to move through the world, run my business, and show up for the people around me. They guide how I collaborate, communicate, and lead — in business and in my personal life.

Cultivate Calm

As a neurodivergent person, I know how important a regulated nervous system is. I know I work best — and live my best life — when that life is quiet, calm, simple, and soft. As a result, my systems are simple, so there’s never a step learning curve: Google Docs, Loom videos, and Zoom are the main tools I’ll use to share information with you as we work together. When things go sideways (bc life), I lead with grace and gentleness. I know we’re all human, not business robots — and I do my best to make space for that.

Nurture Connections

Relationships are the building block of community, and community is the greatest strength we can have. Whether we’re working together for a day or a year, I want you to feel seen, respected, and genuinely cared for.

Be Dependable

Dependability, for me, isn’t just about timelines — it’s about being someone you can trust to show up fully and honestly. I bring that same energy to my work with clients, collaborators, and community.

I don’t ghost. I follow through. I keep my word. I take my commitments seriously and hold space for others to do the same, in ways that feel sustainable and human.

Seek Joy

When joy is present, creativity flows more freely. It isn’t about being bubbly or performatively positive. (Yeah, no). I celebrate small wins, I find delight in the process and in the satisfaction of working through challenges, and I encourage my clients to do the same.

As we work together, I’ll encourage you to seek your own joy in your business — and I hope that working with me will be part of what brings you joy, too.

Encourage Autonomy

My work is designed to empower — to give you tools, language, and resources you need to show up for yourself and your business. I respect your voice, your instincts, and your lived experience. I’ll offer guidance, but I won’t override your agency.

Pursue Accessibility + Inspire Inclusivity

I believe entrepreneurship is an accessibility tool. From chronic illness to neurodivergence to physical disabilities, entrepreneurship allows people to create an income strategy that works for them.

In building my business, I’ve created countless accommodations for my disabilities and neurodivergence.

As such, I’m committed to creating processes, content, and experiences that welcome people in. I try to make things easier to access, engage with, and understand — whether that means using plain language, offering flexible schedules, or sharing materials in more than one format.

I understand that inclusivity goes beyond inviting people in — it’s about actively co-creating spaces where everyone can show up as their whole selves. I honor and uplift diverse experiences, and I do my best to design my work in ways that foster belonging, equity, and shared respect. That means actively creating space for a range of identities, voices, and lived experiences — and doing the ongoing work of listening, learning, and unlearning when needed.

Create Clarity

I believe words have meaning and I use them carefully. Clarity for me means asking better questions, untangling complexity, and striving to make room for nuance.

Creating Clarity also means being willing to have uncomfortable conversations. Kim Scott’s Compassionate Candor philosophy (sometimes also called Radical Candor) is a major influence on my approach to communication.

Spark Self-Understanding

I help clients see themselves and their work more clearly. Sometimes, all it takes is one conversation or question to unlock something incredible that’s been sitting quietly under the surface — I love those moments. The more you understand yourself, the more powerful your message becomes.

Repair Harm

I do my best to be thoughtful, kind, and respectful in all that I do. And when I do cause harm despite those intentions, I strive to take accountability, make it right, and do better next time. That’s part of what it means to be in community, in conversation, in collaboration.

On the lighter side:

  • I was a childhood gymnast and still love to turn myself upside down

  • I recently picked up painting and fell down on rollerskates (I’m learning 😆)

  • I believe every food can be improved by sprinkles if you’re creative enough

  • I grew up in Wisconsin, consider Chicago my “hometown” (I lived there 10 years), and am now settled in North Carolina, just outside of Raleigh

  • I’m neurodivergent (autism, ADHD, anxiety, aphantasia — that’s a lot of A’s!)

  • My favorite role I ever played during my professional theatre career was as Dale/Young Kate in the world premiere cast of the (Wasserstein prize-winning!) play Hickorydickory by Marisa Wegrzyn at Chicago Dramatists

  • My dream is to own a few acres, fill a couple with fruit trees and other plants, and have some leftover space for barn cats

  • For now, I have one cat whose name is Tucker (the official Right Cat of Right Cat Creative); my partner also has a cat named Vader (he’s black, and he wheezes)

  • My partner and I are getting married in 2026! 💍
